Privacy Policy

LINX helps people discover service providers in Lebanon. You can browse without creating an account. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how the LINX mobile application (the “App,” “LINX,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you browse listings, change preferences, contact a provider, or submit a rating.
2. Information we handle
- App preferences: your language, appearance setting, selected area, and whether onboarding has been completed may be stored on your device.
- Rating information: if you rate a service, we process the service identifier, star rating, submission time, and a randomly generated pseudonymous installation identifier. The identifier is stored in secure storage on your device and helps limit duplicate or abusive ratings. It is not your advertising identifier and is not connected to a LINX account.
- Technical and integrity information: our infrastructure providers may process limited device, app, network, diagnostic, and integrity information needed to deliver content, prevent abuse, secure the service, and troubleshoot failures.
- Communications: if you email or message LINX support, we receive the contact information and message content you choose to provide.
The current customer-facing App does not require an account and does not collect precise device location. Area filtering is based on the area you select manually.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and maintain the directory, remember your choices, display and aggregate ratings, protect LINX and its users from spam or misuse, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Providers and external services
LINX uses Google Firebase services, including Firebase Core, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Authentication components, and App Check, to deliver directory content, store ratings, host images, and protect backend resources. When you choose Call, WhatsApp, Email, or Directions, LINX asks your device to open the relevant external service. Your interaction is then governed by the provider's privacy terms. LINX does not automatically send your personal information to a listed service provider; you decide whether and what to communicate.
5. Sharing and sale
We do not sell personal information and do not share information for cross-app advertising or tracking. We may disclose information to service providers that operate LINX on our behalf, when required by law, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, LINX, or the public. Service providers are required to handle data with protections consistent with this policy and applicable law.
6. Data retention and deletion
On-device preferences remain until you change them, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App. Ratings and their pseudonymous identifiers may be retained while the related listing and rating feature remain active, unless a longer period is required for security or legal reasons. Support correspondence is retained only as long as needed to respond, maintain records, or meet legal obligations. Infrastructure providers may retain technical records according to their documented retention schedules.
You may request access to or deletion of information you have provided by contacting us. Because ratings are not associated with a name, email address, or account, we may need details such as the service and approximate submission date to locate a rating, and in some cases may be unable to link a rating to you.
7. Your choices
You may decline to submit ratings, avoid contacting external providers, change App preferences at any time, and remove locally stored information by deleting the App. You can control permissions in iOS Settings. LINX will request permission only if a feature that needs it is made available to you.
8. Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted network connections, platform secure storage, backend access controls, and app-integrity checks. No system is completely secure. Information may be processed in countries where our providers operate, subject to contractual and legal safeguards.
9. Children
LINX is a general-audience directory and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as LINX changes. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the App or through another appropriate channel.
